You have just helped me understand some fundamentals. Thank you senor!

svenasvena Abril 7, 2010 a las 9:38 PM

Thank you thank you. This is so clear and helpful. I have been looking for this information for so long. The only thing I would add to make it even simpler is to show people how to create the page with microsoft word instead of frontpage.
I hope you do more Jeff. What I would like to know is how to add the email opt in box form Aweber and get it aligned in the middle. Hope you can help.

Hi, does anyone know why I can’t find the template option dropdown in Wordpress?. I’m using the latest version but it doesn’t appear on the right hand side as it does in this video.

@xXcOOkiemOnsterx9 Both wordpress versions are free. But no, you cannot do this with Wordpress . com, only a self hosted version of Wordpress.

freethetech Junio 30, 2010 a las 8:42 PM

@gilespittock Are you using a self hosted version of Wordpress, or are you using Wordpress . com?

Thank you! This really helped — it let me put up a dummy front page while I work on the back end! Very cool.

These steps do not work with the current version of WordPress (3.0.1). When you try to apply the custom theme (test.php) to the new page that you write you can’t do it because it doesn’t appear as an option in the drop down box for “Page Attributes Template”, you only see Default Template.
